Bike Cleaner for MOTOCROSS/DUAL SPORT conditions
STEP 1 - Degrease engine, swingarm and plastics that are covered in excess chain lube. This is also a good time to degrease your chain so that it is ready to be cleaned later.
We recommend - Putoline Chain & Engine Degreaser specifically formaulated for this task. Suitable for chrome, paint, rubber and plastic parts.
Note: Putoline Chain & Engine Degreaser is water soluble and leaves no residue after you wash.
STEP 2 - Wash Concentrate, give your bike a rinse with a hose to remove the bulk of the debris. Than cover your bike in a wash concentrate to break down the dust, mud and sand. Wait a couple of minutes to let it soak in.
We recommend - Putoline Put Off Concentrate specially formalated for breaking down the debris on bikes used in Off Road conditions.
Note: Suitable for delicate surfaces such as magnesium, anodised elements and aluminium. However do not use it on unprotected reflective surfaces like chrome exhaust pipes
STEP 3 - Give your bike a rinse with a hose to remove the debris that has now been loosened by the bike wash. Re-apply the bike wash after you rinse to make the next step easier.
We recommend - Using a standard garden hose with a spray nozzile or a low pressure washer to avoid forcing water in behind any important seals.
STEP 4 - Use a Speciality Cleaning Brush to get into all the hard to reach places and remove all of the debris that did not come off with water from the hose. When you are done don't forget to rinse your bike clean.
We recommend - Using one of the Oxford Essentials Bike Wash Brushes. They come in a four pack with different shapes for different places as well as individual brushes to replace what you need if they wear out.
STEP 5 - Silicone Spray to protect your plastics and surfaces. Apply to the bike when it is dry. This process creates a protective barrier over the surface that revitilises your parts and protects. It also makes it harder for debris to stick next time you go for a ride.
We recommend - Putoline Silicone Spray specially formulated for use on surfaces like Polypropolene plastics, vinyl stickers, rubbers, TPU, painted and unpainted metals.
Note: Do not use this on your seat, brakes, handlebars or surfaces that heat up when the engine is running.
STEP 6 - Protect your Metal Engine surfaces with a heat resistant waxy film. Stop your engine surfaces oxidising and corroding with a heat resistant protective barrier. This will also help the cleaning process next time you ride.
We recommend - Putoline Metal Proof & Protect specially formulated to be applied to untreated and lacquered metal parts to protect against corrosion caused among other things by moisture and brine.
Note: Do not use this until your engine has cooled down. Apply to a dry cool to the touch motor.
